DeepPuck is a free NHL statistics site. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no newsletter — we never ask you for your name, your email address or anything else about you. This page describes the only two things that do collect data here: analytics and advertising.
Your choice comes first
Analytics and advertising storage are switched off when you arrive. Google’s tags load in a denied state and stay that way unless you press Accept on the cookie banner. Press Decline, or ignore the banner, and no analytics or advertising cookies are set.
Your answer is remembered in your browser’s local storage under deeppuck.consent.v1. That value never leaves your device and is not sent to us or to anyone else — it exists so the banner does not ask you the same question on every visit.
Analytics
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It tells us things like which team pages are popular and roughly where in the world readers are; it does not tell us who you are. We use it to decide what to build next, and for nothing else.
Advertising
This site is paid for by ads served through Google AdSense. If you accept, Google may use cookies to personalise the ads you see. If you decline, ads still appear but are non-personalised — chosen from the page you are reading rather than from anything about you.
Google’s own handling of that data is governed by its policies, not ours:
- How Google uses information from sites that use its services
- Google Ads Settings — turn off ad personalisation across Google
- YourAdChoices and NAI opt-out — industry-wide opt-outs
- Google Analytics opt-out add-on — blocks Analytics in your browser everywhere
What we never do
- Ask for, store or sell personal information
- Set analytics or advertising cookies before you accept
- Share anything with third parties beyond Google as described
Changing your mind
Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes the stored answer, and the banner will ask again on your next visit. In Chrome and Edge that is under Settings → Privacy → Third-party cookies → See all site data; in Firefox and Safari it is under the site information icon in the address bar.
Statistics and logos
Statistics, player photographs and team marks come from the NHL and remain the property of the NHL and its teams. DeepPuck is an independent site and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the National Hockey League.
